Shawna Barnes
I met Shawna when I first started posting about my intentions with VetCraft on Facebook. We started chatting and found out that we have quite a lot in common. We both served as medics in the Army and we both have a desire to pull ourselves out of the pit and make something of our lives after the Army is done with us. She found that she had a gift for pottery and ceramics that turned into a passion and now has become her therapy. When she is not throwing clay on a wheel or sculpting delicate statues and jewelry she is busy planning her transition from former medic to full time potter and instructor.
Even though some days are more difficult to get through than others, she pushes herself constantly. She is actively pursuing fundraising efforts and developing her skills into other areas. Soon she will be hosting classes in her Maine studio and you will be able to enroll in available class slots here as well as through her site. There is nothing as theraputic as the creative process, and Shawna shows no shortage of creativity. If you have any doubts you can view samples of her work in the slide show below, or you can click on her banner above to see and read more about her. As far as I am concerned I am in great company and I look forward to working together to help others find their peace of mind and discover their hidden talents.
